This IDC Perspective presents IDC's AI-based automation evolution framework. To help wade through the hyperbole associated with AI, IDC has developed a framework that allows for the evaluation of the evolving nature of the human-machine relationship and the application of AI at different level of automation scope: from tasks and activities to processes and systems.
"IDC's AI-based automation evolution framework was developed based on global market research that highlighted two lessons. First is the need to understand the scope of AI-based automation. Second is to understand the components of the evolving relationship between the human and the machine.
