This IDC study provides a top-line analysis of our most recent traditional PC forecast as well as select regional-, segment-, and product-level highlights.
"2018 was a mixed bag that started on a good note but faced a challenging second half of the year as Intel CPU shortage became a reality and rising tension around the United States–China trade war intensified, resulting in a flat year for the PC market," stated Neha Mahajan, senior research analyst, Devices and Displays, at IDC. "Despite the slowdown, there is guarded optimism that recovery would likely happen around the back-to-school season and be further helped by increased commercial replacements before the Windows 7 EOL deadline hits."
