This IDC study presents a five-year forecast for the U.S. 3D printing services market.
"It is increasingly important for manufacturers to develop services strategies to add revenue and profits to their companies," said Tim Greene, research director at IDC's Hardcopy Solutions group. "Hardware prices are coming down, and competition in production 3D printing categories is increasing. Services are required to sell and implement production solutions, but manufacturers have to develop ways to provide these services profitably as independent providers offer competitive services without the costs that innovative manufacturers have."
