Abstract

This IDC Survey presents key findings from the U.S. Healthcare Provider Technology and Services Survey. The goal of the survey was to understand, identify, and track current and future adoption patterns, use cases, and application areas, as well as investment trends related to healthcare provider IT solutions in the United States. This Survey focuses on those findings that are pertinent to U.S. hospitals and medical centers.

"U.S. hospitals and medical centers face a range of challenges, namely in the care model shifting to ambulatory and home settings, the rise of consumerism, burnout, cyberthreats, rising costs, and lower margins," says Mutaz Shegewi, research director, IDC health insights. "The right technological capabilities help these providers improve their competitive positions and future readiness in addition to advancing other important goals such as improving quality, experience, and engagement. Therefore, it is vital for these organizations to investing strategically in the right mix of clinical and operational health IT solutions."
