This IDC study provides our 2020–2024 forecast for the worldwide identity market. The market for identity management solutions again saw overall 11.2% growth in 2019 with modest gains (6.3%) for on-premises solutions and big leaps (28.1%) for cloud migrations. The outlook might be characterized as cautious optimism wherever business failures don't result in revenue losses.
"This is a new phase for identity management investments forced upon organizations by worldwide health concerns," says Jay Bretzmann, research director for Security Products at IDC. "Business and organizational survival over the next two years will depend upon the ability to remotely connect B2E, B2B, and B2C users in a secure fashion so we can all communicate, share, work, and shop in a secure manner."
