"Subscriber losses have continued to mount for fixed service providers supplying voice, data, and video services to U.S. consumers. Growth in fixed broadband subscriptions has not been enough to offset the losses in landline voice and pay TV, leading to a decline of 2.5 million subscribers in 3Q19, a decline of 1.0% over 2Q19," said Jason Blackwell, research director, IDC's Consumer Multiplay and Broadband Services.
