Abstract

This IDC study provides a high-level view of quarterly subscribers for consumer fixed broadband, landline voice, and video services for the leading U.S. service providers in each segment. More details on landline voice, fixed broadband, and video subscribers and revenue can be accessed through IDC's United States Consumer Multiplay and Broadband Services and Multiscreen Video research programs.

"Subscriber losses have continued to mount for fixed service providers supplying voice, data, and video services to U.S. consumers. U.S. consumer communications service providers lost 2.5 million subscribers in 3Q19, a decline of 1.0% over 2Q19 as growth in fixed broadband has not been enough to offset losses in landline voice and pay TV," said Jason Blackwell, research director, IDC's Consumer Multiplay and Broadband Services.
