Integrations Between SD-WAN and Enterprise Campus Networks Create Myriad Benefits

By: Brandon ButlerSenior Research Analyst, Enterprise Networks

Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights a data point from IDC's global Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) Survey, November 2019, which queried 1,200 respondents from 12 countries. Respondents were asked one key question about the perceived benefits of integrations between SD-WAN and the enterprise campus network/local area network (LAN). The survey data shows that enterprises see many advantages to more holistically managing their networks across these domains.

"As the fast-growing SD-WAN market continues to evolve, one of the key developments continues to be integrated management across multiple areas of the network, with a prime example being comanagement capabilities being established across the WAN and LAN," says Brandon Butler, senior research analyst, IDC's Enterprise Networks. "Enterprise networking vendors are building up their capabilities for multidomain integrations between SD-WAN and the enterprise campus, and as they do, enterprises see many benefits."
