Past, Present, and Future of Mergers and Acquisitions with Security Service Providers

By: Craig RobinsonProgram Director , Security Services, Curtis PriceProgram Vice President, Infrastructure Services

Abstract

This IDC Market Perspective provides analysis of some of the drivers for both managed and professional security services. As the demand for these services grows, so does the need for these providers to have end-to-end solutions to provide their clients the types of capabilities that are needed to defend their organizations from the advanced cyberattacks that they are forced to defend against.

The corresponding demand for these services is driving some providers to acquire other cybersecurity service providers or, inversely for themselves, to become acquired by other providers or by private equity companies.

"Having a complete cybersecurity solution to provide the types of services that a security hungry client base is demanding is a daunting process. Companies will continue to add elevated cybersecurity capabilities through the acquisition of extended or superior technologies and personnel in other cybersecurity companies," says Craig Robinson, program director, Security Services.
