Abstract

This IDC Survey compares U.S. consumer trust in 20 tech brands in 2020 with 2019. In a year marked by the COVID-19 impact, lesser known brands grew their "trust" and "opinion," as consumers actively sought alternatives, product availability, and value. The top 7 brands from 2019 lost a measure of trust in 2020.

This survey, conducted among a representative sample of 1,212 U.S. consumers, identifies the winners and losers in the battle for "brand trust" in 2020 and the reasons behind their performance using IDC's proprietary Consumer Trust model.
