Abstract

This IDC Survey provides an in-depth look at service and subscription spend across 16 different service and subscription categories. The average U.S. household has five services and spends over $3,000 annually. Wireless service makes up about a third of that expenditure. The bulk of the remaining budget is spent on internet service and various forms of video content. Dramatic generational differences continue to drive the shift away from pay TV and lower ARPU in the segment.
