Abstract

This IDC Survey provides insights on IT spending behavior during and in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. This survey was conducted in 14 countries representing North America, EMEA, and Asia/Pacific. It's intended to capture spending sentiment associated with 22 discrete categories of hardware, software, and services. This survey focuses on how respondents expect spending to change across network equipment, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things in both the second quarter of 2020 and the full year 2020.

"The novel coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact international public health, global economies, and the broader information and communications technology (ICT) industry," says Brandon Butler, senior research analyst, Enterprise Networks, at IDC. "Within the ICT sector, the network infrastructure market will be also be affected by the economic turbulence that has followed in the wake of the coronavirus. The impact will be uneven across various sectors, geographies, and vertical industries across the market as the impact of the pandemic continues to play out."
