Are Organizations Rethinking How They Train Their Workforce as a Result of COVID-19?

By: Cushing AndersonProgram Vice President, IT Education and Certification

Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight looks at how organizations are training their workforce as a result of COVID-19. COVID-19 has dramatically changed the way most organizations work worldwide. This has carried over to skills development programs. IDC's global COVID-19 Impact on IT Spending Survey conducted from April 22 to 29 shows an increase in investment intentions in remote learning programs and technologies. In fact, a large share of organizations expect to increase their investment in remote learning as a result of the COVID-19 social distancing and work-from-home requirements.

In IDC's opinion, a mature, holistic, and agile approach to skills development of the workforce is strongly correlated with a better business outcome.
