This IDC Survey Spotlight presents the top use cases for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) and draws a focus to the impact of AI/ML on the development and adoption of network analytics solutions. It contains data from IDC's March 2020 AI Strategies View Survey of 2,056 respondents representing mostly large organizations across 15 countries and 24 vertical industries. The respondents themselves represented a fairly equal mix of executives/managers (e.g., CIOs, VPs, directors) and individual contributors (e.g., analysts, architects, engineers) across both IT (68%) and lines of business (32%).
"Every network represents a treasure trove of information flows. Business transactions, management exchanges, security scans, and traffic controls all serve to provide a wealth of critical information to those designing, operating, protecting, and automating the network infrastructure and networked resources. Deep AI-driven insights into all this information heightens not only network usage and availability but also network readiness in this fast-moving digital era." — Mark Leary, research director, Network Analytics, IDC
