This IDC study provides market sizing of the worldwide rugged mobile device market for 2021. In addition, the study provides a worldwide forecast by mobile operating system for 2021–2025.

"The worldwide rugged device market is currently set for healthy growth over the forecast period, despite the lingering effects of 2020," says Bryan Bassett, senior research analyst for IDC's Enterprise Mobility: Deployment Strategies program. "Enterprises have signaled they intend to invest heavily in new mobile hardware for workers over the next 18 months, and frontline workers are being aggressively targeted by businesses as the benefactors of new mobile initiatives that require dedicated rugged hardware."
