This IDC study outlines the impetus and impact of applying AI and advanced analytics capabilities to asset management and provides enterprises with a planning framework to achieve scalable and repeatable success in the endeavor. Asset management is a top priority for operations-focused industries, constituting the greatest opportunity offered by transformation initiatives. Yet organizations attempting to transform asset management through the use of AI have run into some challenges along the way.
"Applying AI in asset management is no easy task," says Jonathan Lang, research director, IDC's Worldwide IT/OT Convergence Strategies research program. "After resolving data quality issues, organizations must find scalable ways for subject matter experts to effectively maintain the data models in order to scale and achieve full value."
