Abstract

This IDC Survey includes data from IDC's COVID-19 Impact on IT Spending Survey. IDC conducted a global survey from August 5 to 17, 2020. This document provides results and analysis from a global survey of 670 senior leaders who are decision makers and/or influencers across IT, LOB, and C-level roles in their organization's work transformation initiatives. Respondents are from a broad range of industries and company sizes. The global poll was designed to understand shifts in IT, LOB, and C-suite confidence, decision making, and spending in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. This survey examines global and regional trends in work from home and return to physical facilities and corresponding IT spending across three time periods: pre-COVID, current, and after the availability of a COVID-19 vaccine.

"As questions intensify about returning to work in person, early survey data suggests the COVID-19 vaccine will be a significant catalyst for reentry," said Amy Loomis, research director, Future of Work. "At the same time, remote work has definitely taken hold globally and will not return to pre-pandemic levels."
