Abstract

This IDC study discusses the top 10 predictions for worldwide imaging, printing, and document solutions and 3D printing for 2021.

"COVID-19 has interrupted the conventional flow for printing and imaging technologies," says Keith Kmetz, IDC's program vice president for Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions Research. "Buyers are faced with numerous challenges as their organizations consider their strategic IT plans in the aftermath of the pandemic. The printing and imaging industry is also going through its own set of changes in response. As a result, the buying community should be aware that this technology will remain relevant in the 'next normal,' but a departure from a long-established norm of printing and imaging products and services should be anticipated. Buyers should align their printing and imaging sourcing criteria with providers that can offer an evolved set of solutions specific to these needs."
