Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines survey respondents' intend to use employee experience (EX) vendors and service providers over the next 24 months versus the previous 24 months. When looking at the total respondents, 50.7% of the respondents say they will use their EX vendors and service providers "about the same" amount, 42.8% say they will use their vendors more, and 6.4% saying less. The most interesting results are when the data is looked at by vendor and service provider cohort, with results strongly correlating to IDC's five stage EX recovery process of moving from adaptive well-being to employee engagement to social recognition to adaptive skills development/new working models. The results show that over the next 24 months, 51.9% of respondents plan to use HCM and consulting service providers "more" compared with 40.3% who say use will be "about the same." This is the only cohort showing significant plans for increased use versus use the same. The explanation likely lies in the move to later recovery stages focused on developing new working models, "the next normal."

The findings are based on data from IDC's Employee Experience Vendor Market Survey — Buyer Perception and Evaluation of Vendor, which reached 500 professionals across the United States.
