Abstract

This IDC study enables an organization to assess the competency and maturity of its IT organization in relation to its ability to support a digital enterprise. The study enables IT leaders to prioritize as they manage complex change. It provides a comprehensive set of objective criteria to benchmark its maturity against an industry benchmark in the quest to achieve facts-based and data-driven decision making and derive outcomes based on business-oriented organizational goals. This IDC study is written to help CIOs and LOB executives take actions today that will deliver the future that they and their businesses want and need.

"As IT becomes the operating system of the business, CIOs must reinvent their IT organization to deliver the capabilities of a successful, competitive, and adaptable future enterprise," says Serge Findling, vice president of research with IDC's IT Executive Programs (IEP). "In a time of multiple crises and market turbulence, rethinking what components are critical and assessing where the organization stands in this new lens are essential for creating effectiveness."
