Abstract

This IDC Market Presentation discusses IDC's 2021 Worldwide Quantum Computing Use Cases Report and also provides an overview of the most relevant and promising quantum computing and adjacent quantum technology use cases being developed worldwide as of November 2021. It presents use cases in 11 verticals: chemical and petroleum; digital services; distribution and logistics; financial services; healthcare and life sciences; manufacturing; professional services; telecommunications/IT, computer software, or internet related; transportation; security; and utilities. Each use case highlights the description and taxonomy segment where the use case currently resides. In addition, for each use case, the use case overview lists relevant quantum vendors, ISVs and/or industry partners, developmental status, and technology segments addressed.
