IDC's Worldwide Quantum Computing Taxonomy, 2021
Abstract
This IDC study provides an overview of and definitions for IDC's research on quantum computing technologies. This taxonomy provides consistent definitions from IDC's perspective and provides a base for IDC's qualitative and quantitative quantum computing products. Driven by extensive primary research and analysis, these quantum-related products provide insights on end-user perceptions, vendor strategies, the development of the quantum ecosystem, and more.
"IDC's quantum computing research details quantum computing technologies, vendor and managed cloud-based offerings, adoption trends, and end-user use case applications," said Heather West, senior research analyst, IDC's Infrastructure Systems, Platforms, and Technologies Group. "In addition, this research provides recommendations for end-user adoption and insight into vendors' quantum computing road maps and future outlooks."
