This IDC Survey provides an update on U.S. consumer tech device spend from July through September 2021. Overall U.S. consumer tech spend was strong with an index of 110, comparable with 3Q20, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The quarter started out very strong before suffering a large decline in August. However, devices such as wearables, hearables, and gaming consoles propelled a strong recovery in September. Other devices did not fare as well.
