Abstract

This IDC Market Presentation introduces IDC's Digital Infrastructure Resiliency Index, which assesses industrywide digital infrastructure preparedness for ensuring digital business resiliency and delivering business outcomes. It is based on weighted analysis of a set of predictive assessment questions that IDC's research has shown are strongly associated with positive business outcome achievements. The index identifies four levels of digital infrastructure resiliency. This analysis finds that 7% of U.S. enterprises have achieved the Leaders level. These leaders see dramatically higher year-over-year improvements in revenue growth, time to market, and operational efficiency when compared with the lowest level (i.e., digital infrastructure resiliency latecomers).

The index evaluates the following attributes as they apply across an organization's entire digital infrastructure estate, including on-premises, edge, and public cloud compute, storage, networking, management, and life-cycle support resources and services:

• Digital infrastructure resiliency readiness
• Governance and compliance consistency
• Autonomous operations utilization
• Cloud-native platform ubiquity

IDC's Digital Infrastructure Resiliency Quotient (DIRQ) scoring model, introduced in this presentation, assists individual organizations in assessing their current digital infrastructure resiliency status and in setting priorities for improving digital infrastructure operating models and architectures to improve business outcomes and strengthen overall digital business resiliency.
