Abstract

This IDC study discusses market dynamics that influenced network consulting and integration services revenue in 2020 and provides insight into developments that will influence demand for the 2021–2025 forecast period.

2020 proved to be a challenging year for enterprises, putting many of their digital aspirations on pause. Moving into 2021, enterprises are needing to align their priorities understanding that those that are digital laggards will not succeed.

"Any digital strategy is as sound as the network that supports it," states Leslie Rosenberg, research vice president, IDC's Network Life-Cycle and Infrastructure Services. "In 2021, as enterprises reevaluate their workforce strategies and how to accelerate productivity, collaboration and, most importantly, continuity, the design, performance, and operations of the network in support of business objectives will be front and center. For many enterprises, rethinking and re-architecting the network in support of this new reality while positioning the enterprise for a return to growth and innovation will be unwieldy. Enterprises will leverage networking expertise from their professional services partners to help them move the business forward at an accelerated pace."
