This IDC Perspective outlines IDC's digital resiliency framework in the context of the global education industry, including K–12 and higher education. The pandemic was a catalyst for significant change in education, but COVID-19 is not the first, nor is it the last disruption K–12 or higher education institutions will face. Coming out of the crisis, disruption will be the norm rather than the exception, and institutions are now working to determine what the "next normal" looks like while preparing for an uncertain and turbulent future. To support education leaders, IDC has developed a digital resiliency framework for education leaders to guide their institutions through their transformations toward digital resiliency.
"The way K–12 and higher education institutions operate will forever be changed," said Matthew Leger, research manager for IDC's Worldwide Education Digital Transformation Strategies practice. "IDC's digital resiliency framework goes beyond traditional business continuity planning or disaster preparation to help institutions position themselves to respond to any challenge that comes their way."
