Strong Appetite for Corporate-Liable Connectivity Spending, Though Reopenings and Return to Office Trends Reduce Urgency

By: Jason LeighResearch Manager, Mobility

Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines the worldwide and U.S. enterprise appetite for corporate-liable funded mobile and work-from-home connectivity. As the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about new norms around work location, companies are beginning to take a discerning look at the most seamless, secure, and cost-effective means of enabling employee productivity no matter where the work occurs.

While some companies are proactively investing in these new workplace models, the prospect of a post-pandemic return to the office and in-person work has other companies considering ways of reducing their spend on employee connectedness.

Insights are derived from 800 IT decision-maker responses in IDC's monthly Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey (Wave 4, May 2021), which examines enterprise spending and investment plans in digital transformation, business resiliency, and specific IT technologies.
