By: David TapperProgram Vice President, Outsourcing and Managed Cloud Services

On-line Presentation

Abstract

This IDC Market Presentation provides a summary of results at a worldwide level in the form of charts and figures for each survey question in IDC's 2020 Managed CloudView Survey, a global web survey of 1,500 LOB and IT decision makers, designed to provide insights into adoption of managed cloud services by enterprises. More than 40 factors (questions) are covered as part of this study that spans a range of topics including cloud strategy and business resiliency, critical metrics, enterprise maturity, sourcing strategy, advanced automation, operational expectations, cloud operating models (private, public, and hybrid), mainframe, recovery services and availability, and perceptions and preferences of managed SPs (service providers). This should be used in conjunction with the forthcoming analysis from the Executive Summary that will be published separately.

"This IDC Market Presentation provides graphical views of the data and information on buyer needs of managed cloud services that will help managed SPs to optimize managed cloud services opportunities, develop most effective positioning strategy, implement an effective partnership model, create means of enabling control, assure quality of services, design most appropriate journey to the cloud, and meet resiliency and sustainability needs, all of which, ultimately, should help drive success in this rapidly expanding market," said David Tapper, VP Outsourcing and Managed Cloud Services at IDC. "Additional detail is available by means of the published pivot (banner) tables for Managed CloudView 2021."
