Abstract

This IDC study looks at how much technology budgets are driving spend across various line-of-business (LOB) departments as well as IT. The document analyzes which specific functional areas have been allocated these budgets and examines regional comparisons to better understand priorities of investment in the Americas, APJ, and EMEA regions.

"The good news is that 85% of the C-suite are expecting to either increase or sustain technology spending in 2021 — and we expect this positive trend to continue into 2022 — and although the growth is being driven more from the business than IT — it should not be about business versus IT — digital transformation is a team sport — so it needs to be about accelerated collaboration, orchestration of prioritized use case, and the overarching focus on delivering new digital value to thrive in a digital-first world," says Philip Carter, group vice president, C-Suite Tech Agenda research.
