Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights IDC's CloudShare: Worldwide Emerging Cloud ISV Repository intelligence service findings on the impact of increasing demand for edge infrastructure on SaaS application architecture. ISVs and SaaS providers must accelerate efforts to re-architect or build new cloud-native applications to address the need to deploy computing resources and application workloads closer to users. A new generation of SaaS applications is architected to take advantage of metro-scale cloud-native deployments and address the need to locate workloads where needed to support superior experiences.
