Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation defines a framework for evaluating software asset–based offerings that complement the traditional offerings of consulting service providers. The presentation describes four categories — solutions, products, assets, and platforms — that can be used to distinguish offers based on whether they can be purchased directly as well as their degree of formal governance and support.
