Future of Work Trends for 2022

Amy Loomis, Ph.D.
On-line Presentation

This IDC Survey draws data from IDC's Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey, Wave 11, from July 2021. The data demonstrates enduring support for hybrid work models enabled by digital transformation technologies such as intelligent digital workspaces, cloud computing, and automation.

Despite adoption momentum for hybrid work, all regions are experiencing common challenges around IT support, security, and building a culture of trust that is foundational for all employees to have equal access to the resources they need. Nevertheless, investment in collaboration and communication technologies as well as design and redesign of physical workspaces continues to build across all regions, although to varying degrees.

"What's fascinating to observe is how different regions have unique challenges and technology investment priorities to enable successful deployment of hybrid work models," said Amy Loomis, research director, Future of Work at IDC. "We see security investments and investments in intelligent digital workspaces and physical workplaces continue to support momentum around successful deployment of hybrid work models."
