This IDC study examines the market share of the major vendors in the worldwide smartphone market in 2021.

"The fact that the market grew over 6% during these difficult times could be a precursor of better things to come down the road," says Anthony Scarsella, research manager for IDC's Mobile Phones team. "2021 may be the year we look back at the market as a turning point considering the four previous years of decline. Strong sales of premium models continue to be led by heavy demand for premium 5G flagships in developed markets such as the United States, Western Europe, and China. The premium surge has helped push both shipments and record-breaking revenue at a worldwide level."
