Network Observability and Automation: Key Contributors to Digital Priorities and Pressures
This IDC Survey presents the results of multiple waves of IDC's 2021 and 2022 global Future of Enterprise Resiliency and Spending (FERS) Survey. All contained results highlight pressing requirements, connectivity plans, and expected gains relating to the use of advanced network management systems and services — particularly network observability and automation solutions. In assembling the selected slide content, the past six months of results (Waves 10-12 in 2021 and Waves 1-3 in 2022) were processed. While the results offered in these slides represent the worldwide response totals, more granular views (e.g., country, company size, vertical industry) are available to IDC clients upon request.
"The move to the digital business model has heightened the criticality of the network infrastructure. No longer simply serving internal workers, the network is now serving smart end devices, external partners, and end customers directly. In addition, the network is also required to support onrushing digital innovation, bringing more technologies, sites, connections, threats, traffic, and workloads to the network infrastructure. Here, advanced network analytics solutions — both systems and services — serve to bolster the integrity and impact of on-premises network components, public communications, cloud services, and networking and IT staff productivity and cross-functional teamwork." — Mark Leary, research director — Network Analytics and Automation, IDC
