Abstract

This IDC study quantifies the U.S. and worldwide production high-speed inkjet market in detail, analyzing issues, trends, and changes in device usage. It contains IDC's review and forecast of the worldwide production inkjet market for 2016–2026. Hardware shipments, value of shipments, and average selling value (ASV) are presented in this document. Data for 2016–2021 is actual, whereas data for 2022–2026 is projected.

"High-speed inkjet has several tailwinds. Print service providers are making the choice to move into high-speed inkjet at the expense of toner-based and offset printers due to the combination of lower running costs and substrate independence. Emerging markets and domestic Chinese equipment suppliers are also driving growth. By the end of the forecast period, we're talking about almost $900 million in hardware revenue and heading toward a billion. — Tim Greene, research director, Hardcopy Solutions group at IDC.
