Abstract

This IDC study provides a forecast for the video surveillance camera market for 2022–2026. Growth is expected to continue through 2026 with a CAGR of 11.9%, reaching a global market value of $54 billion from its current $35 billion. Factors influencing this growth include increasing uses for video data and the convergence of video surveillance with other forms of physical security technology.

According to Mike Jude, IDC research director for Video Surveillance and Vision Applications, "The increasing dependency of organizations on video telemetry to assess the state of their business processes and facility utilization ensures that the need for video surveillance cameras will only increase over time. Yet there are significant barriers to overcome for the market to flourish. Not the least of these will be the continuing disruptions in supply chains as well as an increasing interest in video surveillance by regulators."
