Abstract

This IDC Survey highlights the U.S. consumer tech purchase index of 2Q22. The U.S. consumer tech spend accelerated in 2Q22, rising 12%. Services spend remained flat as devices surged in the year-over-year quarterly comparisons. Spending on password managers, identity theft protection, and credit monitoring services contributed strongly to the growth. Spending on personal VPN, antivirus, and parental controls also grew but more moderately.
