Abstract

This IDC Survey summarizes selected results from IDC's Future of Digital Infrastructure 2022 Global Sentiment Survey, conducted in June 2022. The data showcased in this document analyzes industry variations about digital infrastructure architectural and workload priorities, business outcome KPIs, deployment criteria, and other topics that influence how organizations in different industries make decisions about how to best harness datacenter, public cloud, and edge platforms and services to drive business outcomes. This IDC Survey examines responses from 1,058 digital infrastructure decision makers from around the world. In addition, previously published reports based on this data examine global and regional digital infrastructure priorities and trends.

"Although digital infrastructure decision makers generally align around top strategic drivers and operational priorities, each industry has some unique considerations that shape their digital infrastructure investments and partnership strategies," explains Mary Johnston Turner, research vice president, Future of Digital Infrastructure — Agenda at IDC. "Digital infrastructure suppliers that plan to build out vertical-specific solutions should consider industry-specific application and data analytics considerations, ecosystem preferences, and top priority KPIs. Business executives continue to benefit from gaining deeper understanding of how digital infrastructure directly impacts business outcomes."
