A server microprocessor (MPU) is designed with the intent to be used in a computing system expressly built, marketed, and sold as a server. However, while server microprocessors are most often used in servers, they may also be used in workstations, storage systems, networking systems, and embedded systems. Processors designed for other system categories but consumed by servers are not covered in this document.
