This IDC Perspective reports the worldwide manufacturing results from IDC's 2022 CloudPath Survey of line-of-business cloud buyers and IT operations staff on cloud adoption rates, trends, and attitudes.
"It's clear from conversations among executives that cloud continues to be embraced by manufacturers to support DX initiatives. In fact, manufacturers believe cloud will have more impact on their businesses over the next five years than almost every other technology in the 3rd Platform. Not only are there the costs savings and improved business agility but cloud will be a key technology to support innovation and market expansion. While too many manufacturing organizations still rely on an ad hoc approach for cloud, the three-year outlook is very bright as the industry continues to mature," said Reid Paquin, research director, IT Priorities and Strategies, IDC Manufacturing Insights.
