Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines the time spent in various work streams within the artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) life cycle. The AI/ML life cycle is a process for building, training, tuning, and deploying analytical models. The faster an organization can traverse the end-to-end life cycle, the quicker it can realize business value from its AI investments. Data collection/data preparation is cited as the work stream that continues to consume the largest amount of time. This IDC Survey Spotlight is based on data from IDC's 2022 AI StrategiesView Survey conducted in May 2022. This question surveyed 1,403 respondents from a variety of industries worldwide.
