Post-Quantum Cryptography End User Adoption Trends, 2023
Abstract
This Survey Spotlight presents select findings from IDC's IT Infrastructure for Storage and Data Management Survey. The survey was conducted in January 2023 and includes responses from 600 IT and line of business (LOB) personnel that are familiar with their organization’s storage (enterprise storage systems and/or storage IaaS), hyperconverged infrastructure, and data protection infrastructure and usage in 2022. Quantum computing is expected to be an industry disruptor which will empower end users to solve the most complex intractable problems that are beyond the scope of classical compute systems. Among these complex problems are the classical encryption algorithms which protect today’s data. This survey spotlight investigates how organizations are preparing to become more quantum resilient using post-quantum cryptography.
