Abstract

This IDC Survey illustrates worldwide application services needs and adoption as well as maturity levels within the enterprise for 2023. The document contains data from IDC's Application Services Survey, which was completed in November 2022. IDC's Worldwide Intelligent Application Services practice conducted this worldwide survey to understand enterprise interests in and perceptions about services around application portfolio management, application modernization and migration, cloud-native application development, and site reliability engineering (SRE). The overall goal of the survey was to identify how organizations have been utilizing and will utilize more progressive approaches to application life-cycle management today and in the future as well as how they will leverage new technologies to aid them in application delivery in the future.

"Worldwide application services providers must be prepared to guide buyer organizations through application transformation to the cloud and modern application delivery. To earn business, better differentiate, and deepen customer intimacy, application services providers must evolve service delivery and synchronize application delivery services to meet modern buyer needs," explained Pete Marston, research director, Worldwide Intelligent Application Services at IDC.
