Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights a data point from IDC's annual Worldwide Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) Special Report Survey, conducted in November 2022. Survey respondents included more than 1,000 enterprise IT practitioners who manage enterprise wide area networks (WANs). Survey topics included trends in WAN transformation, SD-WAN deployment preferences, SD-Branch and SASE architectures, multicloud networking and interconnect, and SD-WAN partner preferences. The question featured in this IDC Survey Spotlight asked respondents what the top features of a modern, enterprise-grade SD-WAN were. The responses highlight key trends driving innovation in the SD-WAN market, including integrated security, network and application performance and assurance capabilities, and integrated machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) automation.
