Philippines Graphics Market Posts 10.2% Growth Quarterly in 2021Q1

MANILA, May 28, 2021 - According to the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Industrial Printer Tracker, Graphics product of industrial printer tracker, Philippines, showed significant growth quarterly 10.2% in 2021Q1 but declined -6.0% in 2021Q1 compare to 2020Q1. 2020 was challenging time for all printing industry players in graphics market was from March until December 2020. As leasing schemes get postponed, printing demand has decreased more than 50%. Consequently, some print service providers decided to close their business. “The pandemic has impacted all graphics sectors including signage, jersey, decoration and souvenir. But there are some opportunities that can be explored during this crisis time to flatten the curve and avoid bigger impact of recession” says Puwanart Pientanyakij, Market Analyst for IPDS at IDC Thailand.

The enhanced community quarantine, ECQ, in Luzon made the general market has plunged in the past quarter. Sport event included basketball, badminton and marathon cannot organized event during the ECQ. During the pandemics, there are also emerging opportunities in printing business. Presently, the demands for fabric facemask, food delivery uniform and racing suites are major applications. These applications might be the alternative income during the pandemics and allows more cashflow to print service providers.

Beside social media platform such as Facebook and Instagram. In order to avoid and minimalize the direct contact – Web to Print solution or W2P is another tool for Print services provider to adopt for simplify buying process. Current popular platforms are Onprintshop, XMPie and Uprinting. These platforms provide details of products, consultation, real-time price calculation and web feature with drop file option for quick response. The results or printing products will be sent out directly to their customer using third party logistic services.

These online platforms should be the new normal of printing industry. Not only simplify buying process, but also being used as analytic tools. Print service providers can maximize the solution to develop and provide the right product and services in the future.
