IDC Names Asia/Pacific SAP Implementation Services Leaders and Major Players in 2022

SINGAPORE, August 19, 2022 – A recent IDC report titled IDC MarketS c ape : Asia/Pacific SAP Implementation Services Vendor Assessment 2022 named the “Leaders” and “Major Players” for SAP Implementation Services in 2022. The “Leaders” in the SAP Implementation partner ecosystem in Asia/Pacific are (in alphabetical order) Accenture, Capgemini, Deloitte, EY, Infosys, NTT DATA, and PwC. Following the “Leaders” are the “Major Players” in the market (also in alphabetical order): Abeam and NEC; Cognizant; Fujitsu; IBM; Samsung SDS; Tech Mahindra; and Wipro.

The strength of these SAP service providers is their capability to unlock business outcomes and identify areas of transformation to enhance value from their client’s SAP investments,” Rijo George Thomas, Research Manager Software and Services Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.

Enterprise customers in the Asia Pacific are banking on the in-depth expertise of their implementation partners to unlock business outcomes from their SAP investments and prepare them to capitalize on new opportunities from SAP's new strategic pivots. This includes modernizing on-premises legacy SAP systems to the cloud or migrating to S/4HANA, which is SAP’s next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite.

IDC surveys revealed that many customers faced challenges in upgrading to S/4HANA as this migration represents not only a technical upgrade but also significant changes to their broader IT strategy. As enterprises continue to evaluate several tactics to modernize their SAP landscapes, the implementation partner ecosystem is investing in building the talent base and local reach to help customers accelerate their transition to next-generation SAP solutions.

As SAP implementation services market competition continues to heat up; implementation partners are driving differentiation by tying SAP implementation to the digital aspirations of the enterprise, leveraging industry expertise to enable core business transformation, and running joint initiatives with SAP and hyperscalers to access new innovations such as accelerated cloud migrations, sustainability, Rise with SAP and so on.

“Service providers that can bring together industry and functional expertise, stronger ecosystem play, and deep SAP technical knowledge will foster a long-term relationship with clients,” adds Thomas.

The IDC report, IDC MarketScape : Asia/Pacific SAP Implementation Services Vendor Assessment 2022 (Doc #AP48871022), employs a highly detailed assessment framework that evaluates vendors on their current ability to support customers with end-to-end SAP implementation services and how well placed they are to grow the adoption of SAP solutions with their sound growth strategy in Asia/ Pacific.
