IDC Ranks Top IT Services Providers in Saudi Arabia as Higher-Value Services and Emerging Delivery Models Evolve

Riyadh – Saudi Arabia's IT services market remains concentrated, according to research conducted by International Data Corporation (IDC), with the top 10 providers accounting for 61.8% of the total market's revenue in 2019. The global technology and consulting services firm's newly released report, 'Competitive Profiles and 2019 Analysis of Leading IT Services Players in Saudi Arabia' (Doc # META45207720), reveals that 8 of the top 10 providers in 2019 were local players — Solutions by STC, Advanced Electronics Company, Saudi Business Machines, Ejada, Wipro Arabia, Arabic Computer Systems, Tata Consultancy Services, Al Moammar Information Systems, Ebttikar Technology Company, and Mobily.

"The Saudi IT services supply ecosystem features a diverse mix of systems integrators, multinational providers, telecom operators, and datacenter and hosting services providers," says Mufasir Yousuf, a senior research analyst at IDC. "Global companies continue to make significant investments in their portfolios and service delivery capabilities to keep abreast of evolving end-user needs and market dynamics. The result of this can be seen in the form of various global players securing ranks in top 20 of the competitive list."

The report presents market share data for the top 75 IT services providers in Saudi Arabia, as based on their 2019 performances. It contains market size and share details for the top 10 service vendors according to IDC's 12 foundation market categories and answers the following questions:

  • Who are the top 75 IT service providers in the Saudi IT services market?
  • Who are the top 10 providers in each of IDC's 12 services categories?

"A 'new normal' is emerging in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the IT services industry will not be immune to the vast changes to everyday life and business that are occurring across the globe," continues Yousuf. "Business resilience, automation, agility, and IT security investments will be top of mind for organizations seeking to ensure business continuity and operational efficiency. Creating digital workspaces and empowering employees at remote working locations with the necessary tools will be essential for the seamless delivery of services."

Earlier this year, IDC released another report titled 'Saudi Arabia IT Services Market 2020–2024 Forecast and 2019 Analysis' (Doc # META45207620), which observed that the IT services market in Saudi Arabia grew 6.9% year on year in U.S. dollar terms in 2019. Total market revenues were $3,792.89 million, up from $3,545.63 million in 2018. This IDC study presents an overview of Saudi Arabia's IT services market in 2019, and forecasts expenditure on IT services through 2024. The study contains market size and distribution analyses by foundation markets and vertical markets.

"Organizations in Saudi Arabia are increasingly embracing digital services and solutions to stay competitive and relevant in an evolving and uncertain market," says Yousuf. "Service providers that offer economical, agile, flexible, and ROI-based services will have the best opportunity to extend their reach into more business process areas on the client side, thus gaining larger portions of future IT budgets."
