New IDC MarketScape Reports Assess Worldwide Markets for Risk Consulting Services and Organizational Consulting Services

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. July 13, 2017 - International Data Corporation (IDC) has published two new MarketScape reports that provide an assessment of the leading providers of global risk consulting services and organizational consulting services. The reports utilize a comprehensive framework and a set of parameters to evaluate providers relative to one another and to those factors expected to be most conducive to success in a given market during both the short term and the long term.

For the study, IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Risk Consulting Services 2017 Vendor Assessment (IDC #US42810817), nine firms were evaluated, including the world's five largest business consulting firms. Accenture, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, and IBM were named as Leaders in this market.

"While risk consulting providers are generally perceived as capable, this evaluation discovered that enterprises are generally disappointed with the consulting provider's ability to drive business change across the organization and manage vendor staff turnover during a project's lifetime, activities essential to many significant business risk engagements," said Cushing Anderson, program vice president, Business Consulting Services at IDC.

For the study, IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Organizational Consulting Services 2017 Vendor Assessment (IDC #US42802917), nine firms were evaluated, including world's the five largest business consulting firms. Deloitte, IBM, and McKinsey were identified as Leaders in this market.

"Similar to other studies of enterprise consulting firms, providers of organizational consulting services are widely seen as capable partners. However, this evaluation found that enterprises are disappointed with the consulting provider's ability to deliver on value-creating innovation, challenge corporate culture, and integrate appropriate technologies into organizational consulting activities. Study after study shows that some vendors are better able to produce meaningful results than others," added Anderson.
