The Emergence of a New Government Ecosystem
Governments worldwide are progressively embracing the service standards set by the private sector. They are optimizing their processes, breaking down barriers, and harnessing innovative technologies and innovations to safeguard, maintain, and elevate societal wellbeing and quality of life. At the same time, Saudi Arabia has been actively channeling substantial investments into its ICT sector as part of its strategic drive to position itself as a leading tech player in the region and achieve its long-term economic objectives. Government sector IT spending in the Kingdom is expected to grow at a five-year CAGR of 9%, with investments in AI, IoT, cybersecurity, and big data analytics set to top $574 million in 2023 alone.
The Kingdom has crafted an ICT strategy that serves as a crucial stepping stone toward realizing the broader ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030. Among the primary objectives of the strategy is the continuous development of the ICT sector so it can become a major contributor to the Kingdom's GDP. To accomplish this, the Saudi government is making substantial investments in digital infrastructure, fostering an environment conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship, and enhancing the skill sets of the domestic workforce. The government is also actively working to attract foreign investment into the ICT sector, while forging partnerships with leading global technology firms.
By design, these partnerships and customer ecosystems are open, dynamic, and collaborative to accommodate the evolving needs of the disruptive emerging technology market. Given the exceptionally large scale and transformational nature of Saudi Arabia's government initiatives, managing these ecosystems toward the same goals based on a common vision and operating model has become incredibly important.
The 2023 edition of the IDC Government Congress will showcase invaluable insights from respected industry experts and key decision makers from across Saudi Arabia's public sector as they discuss the requirements for driving the long-term success of large-scale, transformational initiatives enabled by ecosystems of partners, data, and experiences.
