Abstract

This IDC Perspective identifies low-code/no-code mobile apps as a driver of the future of work. This document discusses organizations' workflow priorities for mobilization and characterizes the workspace as one where nontechnical app developers — employees in the lines of business — are increasingly and quickly developing mobile apps that meld together a multitude of enterprise software and cloud services to work more efficiently and effectively.

"The workspace is constantly changing, but one thing is for certain," says Denise Lund, research director, IDC's Enterprise Mobility. "Businesses will benefit from employees' access to mobile apps that incorporate the right information and interfaces for them to collaborate to give approvals, make decisions, and the like. This is no longer something that requires technical developers, thanks to the evolution of low-code/no-code mobile app development tools."
